World’s tallest inflatable waterslide at Perth’s Xscape at the City waterpark

The Guinness World Records has confirmed ‘The Nova Drop’, at Perth’s Xscape at the City pop-up water park, as the world’s tallest inflatable slide.

The dual lane inflatable racer slide, constructed by FreeStyle Slides in the USA, stands at 22.4 metres high and is accessible via 12 flights of stairs, has been operating at the Xscape at the City attraction since before Christmas, during which time it has recorded staggering interest and visits.

Guinness World Records Adjudicator Solvej Malouf witnessed and approved at the Belmont attraction on Friday (19th February), which smashed the previous record of 12.9 metres held by The Big Wedgie in Glenelg, South Australia.

Announcing the World Record, Malouf stated “I’m pleased to confirm Xscape at the City and Freestyle Slides now hold the title of World’s Tallest Inflatable Slide at 22.4 metres high.”

Not only do Xscape at the City and Park and Freestyle Slides now hold a new world record, it also represents a number of other exciting firsts as the first pop up water park of its kind in Australia that also offers the country’s longest inflatable obstacle course.

FreeStyle Slides Inc Operations Technician Adam Lowell soared down ‘The Nova Drop’ to mark the official Guinness World Record attempt, after which he stated “it’s not every day that you get to start the day by riding the world’s tallest inflatable slide – let alone set a record!

“Lowell said. “I’ve extremely proud of our team and this achievement.”

Xscape at the City Director, Douglas Campbell, was delighted with this latest endorsement of ‘The Nova Drop’ side, adding “pop-up water slides and parks are such a new and exciting concept for Australia and actually the world.

“We’ve received such a positive response from all our Perth patrons, so achieving this world record is the icing on the cake.”

Located just 4 kilometres rom Perth’s CBD, Xscape at the City is currently open Thursday to Friday from 10am to 3.30pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm and will operate until 25 April 2016. Tickets can be purchased online at xscapeatthecity.com.au or at the gate.
