Georges River Council commits initial $10 million to new Carss Park pool
Georges River Council has outlined plans to contribute $10 million over three years towards the reconstruction of the Carss Park Aquatic Facility, in partnership with the NSW Government.
The Council has established a funding cap of $17.5 million, covering previous costs for demolition, remediation and planning.
In a statement, the Council said it remains dedicated to delivering the important community project while maintaining financial sustainability.
Georges River Mayor, Elise Borg advised that strategies presented at the Council Meeting on Monday ensure that the funding plan aligns with Council’s long-term financial goals.
Mayor Borg stated “this is an important milestone in Council’s journey towards delivering a new aquatic facility for the Georges River community.
“Council is fully committed to advancing the project and we look forward to collaborating with the NSW Government on this initiative.”
