Aquatic industry bodies in running for association awards
Industry bodies Aquatics and Recreation Victoria (ARV) and SPASA (Swimming Pool and Spa Association Australia) are each in the running for recognition as Australia's Association of the Year.
Presented each year by the Associations Forum - a commercial, member-based network of 500 associations, charities, clubs, societies and other not-for-profit organisations - the awards aim to bring associations together to "boost performance".
ARV and SPASA have each been nominated for the Association of the Year Award™, which is "presented to an exemplary association that has achieved overall excellence".
Other associations among the 15 nominees include the Australian Rheumatology Association, Council of Small Business Organisations Australia, Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand, Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia, Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists and the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
SPASA is also one of seven nominees for the Association Turnaround of the Year Award, “presented to an association that was in very significant difficulties and successfully turned itself around in recent times.”
Presentations will be made at the Association Awards Dinner on Thursday 7th November.
Melbourne's Marvel Stadium is among the Award sponsors.
