Dreamworld announces inaugural 'Mini Mayor' election

Gold Coast theme park Dreamworld has announced that it will elect its first ever 'Mini Mayor' and is calling for children aged 10 or under from around the country to join the running and declare all things that make them happy.

The principle role of Dreamworld's Mini Mayor will be to represent the under 10 demographic in offering valuable input and feedback on what their constituents most need and want to make them happy.

Introducing the post, Dreamworld Chief Executive Craig Davidson explains "we'd like to think we're in touch with what our younger citizens need in a theme park, but being able to consult with our very own Mini Mayor would make sure we're on the mark here at Dreamworld.

"What we're looking for are confident and articulate young candidates who aren't shy to have their voice heard."

Parents of children wishing to enter are asked to visit www.dreamworld.com.au/MiniMayor and submit a short video of their child declaring what makes them happy and why they should be awarded the title of Dreamworld's Mini Mayor 2014.

After entries close on Friday 4th April, a selection committee will then choose three final candidates, who will partake in some final campaigning at Dreamworld in May.

The finalists and their families will each receive a holiday to the Gold Coast staying at Paradise Resort for the all-important final week of the mayoral race. Paradise Resort understands the pressures involved for all budding mini leaders and the popular resort has agreed to support the Mini Mayor finalists and their families with the perfect holiday haven for this demanding time.

Dreamworld's successfully elected Mini Mayor will receive the 'key' to the park in a lavish ceremony, and will enjoy the benefits of being a Platinum World Passholder for two years.

All accepted video submissions for the Mini Mayor can be viewed at Dreamworld's youtube channel
