DOCS ready for New Zealand Conservation Week
The Department of Conservation (DOC) is ready to highlight New Zealand's great places and hidden treasures from 1st to 9th November.
With DOC managing over 1,400 parks, places and environment, Conservation Week is encouraging New Zealanders to get out and explore the great outdoors with a series of hosted activities and events around the country.
A DOC statement explains "there's an amazing world right on your doorstep waiting to be explored.
"This Conservation Week we're making it fun and easy to get out and explore the great outdoors.
"There is a range of things to do and see so head out to one of your local treasures with family and friends and explore the great outdoors."
Events include an Eco Race in Bleheim, Wildlife habitat building in Whangarei and the Taranaki Triathlon Club's 'Run bike run...for the trees' event.
