City Venue Management secures key Gold Coast Business Excellence Award
Gold Coast-based City Venue Management has taken out the Family Business of the Year at the 2022 Gold Coast Business Awards.
City Venue Management’s founders, Lyn and Trevor Rackley have been an integral part of the aquatic industry for decades with Rackley Swimming opening at Burleigh Beach baths in 1998. As the business grew, City Venue Management was launched in 2012 and is now considered one of the country’s leading aquatic and recreation facility operators.
City Venue Management Managing Director, Jay Clarke said it was a privilege to receive the award on behalf of CVM’s 1200 strong staff who are committed to excellence in aquatic centre management with a key focus on helping people of all ages and abilities learn how to swim.
Clarke commented “this is a fantastic achievement for our business and reflects the strong family values which Lyn and Trevor Rackley created for the business back in 1998.
“These values are based around developing strong partnerships with councils, governments and private landlords and excellence in everything we do in relation to customer experience and engagement. Over the years every one of the facilities we manage has seen considerable improvements and increases in annual attendance which is testimony to the vision of the business.”
The Rackley family lineage continues to this day with Lyn and Trevor’s eldest son Reece remains in the business as Chief Executive with a commitment to growing the business beyond its initial location into the aquatic venue management business it is today.
Youngest son Heath Rackley is the head of Halogen Pools, the group's pool service and maintenance arm, while Lyn Rackley remains on the board as an advisory figure and along with her husband Trevor they work with the CVM team, on the company's sustainability focused initiatives.
Heath Rackley’s children are now active swimming participants at the Miami Aquatic Centre (a facility the family has managed for over a decade), continuing what will be the fourth generation of Rackleys to be part of the Gold Coast swimming community.
