Basketball Australia names Christy Collier-Hill as new Head of WNBL

Basketball Australia has appointed of Christy Collier-Hill as the new Head of WNBL. Collier-Hill takes over from Lauren Jackson who is heading up the Women and Girls strategy for Basketball Australia and will commence in her new position on 17th January.

Collier-Hill is currently the General Manager of the Melbourne Boomers and a member of the Marketing and Communications Advisory Committee for the 2022 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.

Basketball Australia Chief Executive Matt Scriven is delighted to welcome Christy following an extensive and competitive selection process and notes “Christy is a highly respected sports administrator who is well placed to drive the growth strategy of the WNBL. Christy has a strong commercial and operational background and with her passion for creating opportunities for women in sport, it’s an exciting time for the WNBL. We look forward to welcoming her to the team.”

Commenting on today’s announcement Collier-Hill adds “I’m extremely pleased to join the team at Basketball Australia, having been part of the WNBL family this appointment is a great opportunity for me to continue to drive the profile of women’s sport. With the Women’s World Cup coming up next year, and a full WNBL season about to start it is a great time for women’s basketball and the opportunities are endless.  I look forward to working closely with all the clubs as we embark on an exciting season of world-class basketball.”
