Basketball Australia and Hoop City combine to back elite 3X3 program

Basketball Australia have announced Hoop City as a new training facility for its 3X3 national team program.

Opened in March, Hoop City is a basketball specific training facility that has already hosted the Australian national basketball team welcoming a recent three-day camp for the women’s 3X3 team.

The move follows the new facility having last month announced a partnership with the National Basketball League (NBL) to establish a developmental program.

Announcing the 3x3 national team link, Basketball Australia General Manager of Game Development and Wheelchair Programs, Leigh Gooding, stated “the team at Hoop City have been super supportive of Basketball Australia’s 3X3 women’s program, providing coaching staff and squad members with access to elite training facilities which include a world class 3X3 half-court, shooting machines and an impressive weight room.

“With many of our athletes and coaching staff based in Melbourne, having access to this leading indoor basketball facility will enhance our 3X3 high performance program and we are delighted to be partnering with Hoop City.”

Hoop City Director, Chris Moore, added “at Hoop City we are committed to ensuring Australia’s position as a basketball powerhouse continues for generations.

“We are focused on providing the most inclusive, advanced, elite training facilities to … any athlete.”

Based in the Melbourne suburb of Cheltenham, Hoop City currently offers memberships ranging from $179 per month to $450 per month.
