Ballarat's first trampoline arena opens
The opening of Ballarat’s first trampoline park, Xtreme Bounce, presents 78 trampolines and a host of attractions to keep children active.
The most anticipated addition to Ballarat’s entertainment choices for years, the new attraction has welcomed more than 1000 jumpers in it first two days.
Located on an industrial estate in Delacombe, the new centre provides 1800 metre² of space with seven different activities. These include a massive free jump area alongside a dodgeball court, high-performance Olympic standard trampolines with walls, Australia’s only wipe-out arena, a battle beam, air pit area and high dive board.
The centre also has a cafe and party rooms, and in addition to regular jumping sessions, will soon offer fitness classes.
As reported by the Ballarat Courier, the attraction was conceived by Rod and Jill James, who, despite having no leisure industry experience, took on the development having seen similar attractions in Geelong and Melbourne.
Rod James explained “I went to one and it was fantastic and agreed it would be a great thing to open in Ballarat. It’s great entertainment and something to enjoy for the family.”
Jill James added “it’s a long-awaited dream come true.
“Our whole family is involved in a lot of sporting areas - basketball, netball, cricket and football - and this is another avenue for fun and fitness.”
The $900,000 construction of the attraction commenced in January.
