ASSA welcomes new Board members
The Australian Swim Schools Association (ASSA) has advised of the appointment of industry leaders Nicky Sloan, Bill Evans and Simon Bryson as members of its national board.
The well respected trio are expected to provide guidance in ASSA’s activities in the promotion of learning to swim along with its with products, services and professional development opportunities.
Nicky Sloan, Chief People Officer for City Venue Management and President of the Board of Director at Royal Life Saving Society - Queensland, is described ASSA as possessing “an innate ability to manage and lead all facets of a business, translating her hands-on experience into a profound understanding of what it takes to foster high-performance cultures within organisations”.
Bill Evans, Director at Cairns-based W&S Aquatics Pty Ltd, is described ASSA as “a stalwart figure in the world of professional coaching, guiding countless individuals towards success in their aquatic and triathlon pursuits.”
Welcoming his appointment, Evans stated “I am humbled and deeply honoured to have been appointed to the Board of the Australian Swim School Association.
“It is with great enthusiasm and a sense of responsibility that I embark on this journey, working alongside such exceptional individuals.
“I am eager to contribute my insights and ideas to further enhance the value we bring to all swim school participants across the country and I aim to become a voice for small to medium swim schools in regional Australia to further enhance the impact we have on all swim school participants across our great nation.”
Simon Bryson, General Manager - Operations at Aligned Leisure, is described by ASSA as “a highly committed and energetic professional, passionate about shaping the future of the aquatics industry.
“Known for his ability to build high-performance teams and drive team culture, Simon’s visible leadership and hands-on approach has consistently seen the delivery of superior team and business results throughout his career.”
ASSA WA Seminar - 1st December
ASSA has also announced that it is to stage a Seminar in Perth on 1st December.
Being held at the Scarborough Surf Life Saving Club, the one day aims to give business owners, operators and staff the opportunity to connect with other swim schools and to learn from informative sessions covering people and leadership, recruitment and retention of swim teachers; the 'bigger picture' effect of inclusion; and business models, financial success and social value.
