Australian Swim Schools Association national conference to focus on swim safety

The Australian Swim Schools Association (ASSA) is gearing up for its 2023 national conference which will take place from 27th to 31st March 2023, at Adelaide’s Stamford Grand Hotel.

The five-day event promises to bepacked with an exceptional line-up of globally acclaimed motivational speakers seeking to expand attendees' knowledge, spark creativity, inspire big-picture thinking and challenge leaders to take their team and business to the next level.

The conference will be host to one of the largest swim school events across the southern hemisphere this year, with over 350 delegates and industry heavyweights from across the nation all coming together in the one place.

This year's agenda will focus on social impact, innovation and sustainability across the industry. Keynote speakers will present on topics including progressive and inclusive swimming programs, relaunch & recovery post-covid, using the ecosystem to build a community and raise money for good, and climate action.

Speakers include: Marty Wilson, bestselling author and motivational resilience and change speaker; Daniel Flynn, Chief Executive of Thankyou; Geoff Coombes OAM, founder of Tour de Cure; Natalie Kyriacou OAM, Environmental and Social Impact leader; Jacqui Taylor, Life Saving Victoria; and many more.

Looking forward to the conference, ASSA General Manager, Emily McNeill stated “we are anticipating that this year will be our biggest conference yet, and we’re looking forward to engaging in some really important conversation for the aquatics industry.

"It’s been a harrowing year for drownings in Australia, and we are eager to thrust swim safety into the spotlight with a three day conference dedicated to enhancing all-inclusive education around swim safety.”

The event will also host the Australian Swim Schools National Excellence Awards dinner, which will be held on the 29th March and recognise the outstanding achievements of ASSA Member Swim Schools.

The conference will be a major tourism boon for Adelaide which will welcome hundreds of delegates over the five days, concluding with an ‘Experience Adelaide Hills Tour’ which will tour guests through local wineries and Handorf.
