Aligned Leisure’s work acknowledged with internationally recognised safety certification

Melbourne-based Aligned Leisure has attained the rare feat of being awarded international Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems Certification for all its facilities.

The ISO 45001 international standard provides a framework to manage risk and opportunities to help prevent work-related accidents and illnesses while aligning workplaces worldwide with internationally acknowledged best practices.

Aquatic and recreation facilities that Aligned Leisure manage for Albury City, Cardinia Shire Council, Caulfield Grammar School, Mildura Rural City Council, Nillumbik Shire Council and Wodonga City Council are all now certified to the international standard.

Advising that the certification and its regular audits would provide confidence to its partners, Aligned Leisure Chief Executive, Shane Dunne (pictured above) stated “we knew our safety culture was always strong. This certification provides the external verification and rigour for our key stakeholders, confirming that our safety practices operate to the highest level.

“I would like to congratulate all of our people, who have driven an excellent safety culture. We are pleased to have our processes formally mapped to the international framework, and we will continue to prioritise safety for our people and customers.”

Nillumbik Shire Council Director Operations and Infrastructure Hjalmar Philipp said the certification validates Aligned Leisure’s commitment to safety, adding “the health and safety of staff and visitors at all Nillumbik Leisure Facilities is our highest priority.

“We commend Aligned Leisure on their success in achieving such a high standard for our community.”
