Applications now open for Live Music Australia program

Venues across Australia can now apply for grants ranging in value from $5,000 to $100,000 as part of the fourth round of the Australian Government’s Live Music Australia program.

Designed to bring more home-grown music to Australians stages - $2.5 million of funding will be available under this round.

Grants can support a variety of activities including the delivery of original live music programs, upgrades to venues and equipment, and support for restarting performances as COVID-19 restrictions ease.

The program is focused on supporting small to medium-sized live music venues who host, or want to host, the performance of original Australian live music – from pubs in the remote outback, to clubs and theatres in major capital cities.

Minister for Communications, Urban Infrastructure, Cities and the Arts, Paul Fletcher said the Government is providing the $2.5 million in funding under this round to support venues in their recovery from the pandemic.

Minister Fletcher notes “as COVID-19 restrictions ease across the country, this targeted funding is vital for venues to rebuild their capacity so they are ready to welcome audiences back - to enjoy original live Australian music.

“I encourage pubs, clubs and venues around the country to apply for this round of funding – whether they are located in suburban, regional or remote areas – we’re committed to getting this nation’s music industry back on its feet.”

Under the program, the Federal Government has invested more than $8 million to support more 300 live music venues and the recovery and sustainability of the live music sector.
