The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney celebrates Summer with food and live music event

The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney is helping people to celebrate summer in a COVIDSafe way with ‘The Garden Social’, an outdoor bespoke food and live music event specifically designed to reduce crowding in an open-air venue.

Situated between Sydney’s famous landmarks and with views of the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge, The Garden Social kicks off on 13th January and runs Wednesday to Sunday until 7th February.

Entertainment includes Jazz, Classical and Contemporary music with talented musicians from around Sydney and the nearby Conservatorium of Music.

The event will offer a selection of fabulous food options and refreshing summer drinks in the Tarpeian Precinct of the Domain near the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney.

Botanic Gardens Greater Sydney Chief Executive, Denise Ora advises “The Garden Social is a chance to come together with friends and family in an outdoor, COVIDSafe space designed specifically to reduce crowding in a lively atmosphere with great food, drinks and live music within reach of the Sydney CBD.”

NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet said the nearly month-long schedule offers Sydneysiders and visitors an opportunity to experience Sydney at its best and notes “with summer and daylight-saving in full swing, this festival is a great way to experience what our city is renowned for: exceptional food, drinks, entertainment and the outdoors.

"What better way to kick off 2021 than to eat, drink and laugh with friends in one of our city’s most beautiful open air venues, in a COVIDSafe way.”

The stunning outdoor location caters to people looking for a drink after work with colleagues, friends meeting before a dinner reservation or families wanting an outdoor venue.

Along with a full bar, the Fever-Tree Ultimate Gin & Tonic Bar will serve refreshing GnT’s with an opportunity to learn more about different botanicals, then mix, match and experiment with Fever-Tree mixers to find an ideal combination.
