2018 Aquatic and Recreation Institute conference to address facilities and people beyond 2020

The Aquatic and Recreation Institute’s upcoming annual Conference and Trade Show is being held at the Crowne Plaza Terrigal from 17th to 19th June 2018, with the theme ‘Our Facilities and our People: 2020 and Beyond.’

Having been reinvigorated over recent years with a new dynamic board, rising membership and innovative industry programs including its mentoring scheme and active anti-ageing plan, the conference theme is part of a future focused industry vision for the ARI.

With this in mind, sessions cover issues including the changes to the Royal Life Saving Society – Australia’s Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations, virtual technologies, aquatic facility design, AUSTSWIM on ‘Shaping the Future of Aquatics’, lifeguarding vigilance, Tennis NSW on facility innovations and the PCYC NSW’s new era of management and facilities.

In addition, the conference keynote, ‘Enabling Peak Performance in your Team’, will be delivered by rugby league legend and innovator Wayne Pearce, who, after an illustrious sporting career has taken his knowledge and expertise in leading high performing teams to the corporate world using his corporate brand ‘Wayne Pearce Advantage’.

By combining proven sports psychology techniques with a mix of organisational and behavioural change methodologies, Pearce has developed a range of powerful tools and techniques designed to help businesses address gaps in the areas of team leadership, teamwork and motivation.

The event, ARI’s 54rd annual conference, is open to all operational and management staff of commercial and public pools as well as the commercial suppliers in the industry.
