YMCA Victoria’s Baw Baw facilities achieve 100% LSV Gold Endorsement
YMCA Victoria and Baw Baw Shire Council are celebrating following all Baw Baw Shire aquatic facilities managed by the YMCA - Warragul, Drouin, Neerim South, Trafalgar, Thorpdale and Rawson - having achieved 100% Life Saving Victoria (LSV) Gold Endorsement.
Gold Endorsement from LSV recognises a sustained commitment to aquatic safety, operational excellence and industry-leading supervision. It confirms that each facility consistently surpasses stringent industry safety standards.
This achievement positions YMCA Victoria’s Baw Baw facilities among the top-performing aquatic centres in the state, setting a benchmark for regional facilities.
Sarah Hadjialexiou, Area Manager at the YMCA notes "achieving Gold Endorsement across every Baw Baw site reflects the ongoing hard work, attention to detail, and genuine dedication our teams demonstrate every day. We greatly value our partnership with Baw Baw Shire Council, whose facilities we proudly manage and whose support has been crucial in achieving this recognition."
YMCA staff members Alishia Collins and Liam Lenders played key roles in leading staff training, implementing comprehensive safety protocols, and ensuring consistent adherence to best practices.
For the community, this endorsement reinforces a commitment to providing facilities where safety is paramount. It gives families, schools and recreational swimmers confidence that their local pools offer an exceptional standard of safety, supervision and quality, helping ensure every visit is enjoyable and safe.
Baw Baw Shire Deputy Mayor Tricia Jones congratulated YMCA on achieving Life Saving Victoria’s Gold Endorsement at every site in the Shire adding “this is a wonderful achievement and something that should be celebrated. Well done to all.”
