Belgravia Leisure achieve gold safety endorsement from Royal Life Saving Queensland

Two of the City of Moreton Bay aquatic facilities, the Burpengary Regional Aquatic Leisure Centre and Murrumba Downs Swimming Pool, have been awarded the prestigious Gold Safety Endorsement from Royal Life Saving Queensland, marking a significant milestone as they set their sights on Platinum Pool accreditation.

Operated by Belgravia Leisure, both facilities successfully met the rigorous 100% compliance benchmark on the Royal Life Saving Aquatic Facility Safety Assessment, showcasing their commitment to industry-leading safety standards and operational excellence.

Commitment to Safety
Welcoming the recognition, City of Moreton Bay Mayor, Peter Flannery stated “the safety of our residents is paramount, and this endorsement reinforces City of Moreton Bay’s commitment to providing world-class aquatic facilities.

“We are proud to see our community pools leading the way in safety and operational excellence, ensuring local families have access to the best possible aquatic experiences.”

\Nikki Thornhill, State Manager at Royal Life Saving Queensland, commended the facilities on their achievement, adding “we are pleased to be able to award a Gold Safety Endorsement to Burpengary Regional Aquatic Leisure Centre and Murrumba Downs Swimming Pool. This award recognises their commitment to excellence in safety management systems.

"Similar to accrediting a lifesaver, the facility has had to achieve excellence across multiple assessments, all of which are geared at lifting safety standards, implementing the Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations, and embedding safe practices into the workplace culture. Congratulations to Belgravia Leisure for their efforts."

Belgravia Leisure’s Safety Commitment
Highlighted the organisation’s ongoing focus on health and safety, Belgravia Leisure State Manager, Dan Cullen noted “at Belgravia Leisure, we are committed to fostering both the physical and psychological well-being of the communities we serve. Health and safety are non-negotiable priorities for us, and achieving this recognition from Royal Life Saving Queensland reflects our dedication to implementing world-class safety management systems.

“We are proud of this achievement and will continue to uphold the highest standards in aquatic safety."

Platinum Pool Accreditation
The Gold Safety Endorsement is a significant step toward Platinum Pool Accreditation, a designation reserved for aquatic facilities that demonstrate the highest levels of continuous excellence in safety and risk management.

The recognition of Burpengary Regional Aquatic Leisure Centre and Murrumba Downs Swimming Pool reinforces Moreton Bay’s reputation for providing safe and accessible aquatic environments, ensuring the highest safety standards for local families, swimmers, and the wider community.
