New Moreton Bay splash pad quadruples patronage
Opened in December, Moreton Bay Regional Council's new splash pad at Deception Bay has been an overwhelming success, with usage quadrupling when compared with the same period last year.
Writing about the benefits of the new aquatic play feature on LinkedIn, Moreton Bay Regional Council Aquatic and Leisure Centres Coordinator Brad Page explained “a major benefit has been not requiring additional supervision specifically for the splash pad due to the safety aspect of the zero depth water feature.
“The facility is attracting increasing numbers of families and grandparents looking for a fun and safe way to cool off.
“From an operational perspective, the splash pad uses less water, energy and chemicals than comparative pools for similar patronage levels."
The splash pad was supplied by Waterplay Solutions Corp and installed by Commercial Aquatics Australia.
