YMCA Victoria secures tender to manage Bendigo's Peter Krenz Leisure Centre

Bendigo Regional YMCA and YMCA Victoria have announced that after a competitive tender process, YMCA Victoria has been awarded the City of Greater Bendigo’s contract to operate the Peter Krenz Leisure Centre located in Eaglehawk.

Set to commence from 1st April, and running until June 2022, YMCA Victoria will be the new management provider.

City of Greater Bendigo Active and Healthy Manager, Lincoln Fitzgerald, said the City was keen to ensure that the centre remained an important asset for the community and the new management model would help achieve this.

The announcement comes as YMCA Bendigo and YMCA Victoria merge their operations under the YMCA Victoria umbrella.

YMCA Bendigo Chief Executive, Jane Robson, said she was excited about what the future held for the YMCA in Bendigo.

Robson advised “over the past 22 years, at the Peter Krenz Leisure Centre the YMCA in Bendigo has consistently delivered on our vision and mission. This has all been thanks to the incredible staff at PKLC. Their outstanding commitment to community has been unwavering.”

Stating that the merger between the two associations will deliver new innovations to the Bendigo community, YMCA Victoria Chief Executive, Peter Burns added “across the country, YMCA associations are coming together to create a better and more effective Y.

“With YMCA Victoria operational in Bendigo, we will create so many opportunities and program innovations, delivered by the same familiar faces the community love.”
