YMCA Victoria announces training partnership with Life Saving Victoria

YMCA Victoria has announced a strategic partnership with Life Saving Victoria (LSV) to provide first response and pool safety qualifications.

The training will incorporate CPR, anaphylaxis, first aid, defibrillation, pool lifeguard training and pool operations.

The decision to outsource accredited training courses is in line with YMCA Victoria's recent strategic review geared at positioning the organisation to focus efforts on the Learning and Development of its people and where possible build partnerships with leaders in the training sector.

YMCA Victoria Chief Executive Peter Burns said the selection of Life Saving Victoria as a training partner was an important strategic decision, stating "we are very excited about the quality of the training that will be available, the development of an integrated online booking portal and working with LSV into the future on new opportunities."

LSV Chief Executive Nigel Taylor added that YMCA staff will benefit in learning from LSV's highly experienced trainers, who will deliver training at YMCA venues across Victoria.

Taylor explained "LSV's trainers specialise in providing the highest level of aquatic safety and first aid training.

"This partnership will ensure YMCA staff across the state receive consistent training that covers nationally recognised qualifications and re-qualifications.

"I am also excited by this great opportunity for LSV and YMCA to work in partnership and look forward to a close, mutually beneficial relationship."
