Personnel Changes at University Sport New Zealand
Over the last two months University Sport New Zealand (USNZ) has undertaken personnel changes at both a staffing and board level.
Dene Lynch is the most recent arrival as National Events Manager, filling a position which had been vacant since February 2008. Dene is a former Lincoln University student and netball scholarship holder with a background in project management and marketing. Most recently Dene held the position of Museum Experience Coordinator at the Museum of Transport and Technology in Auckland.
Her first major induction will be the 2010 Uni Games Southland.
Dene's recruitment completes the final piece of the puzzle for USNZ after a new board was elected at the Half Annual General Meeting in November last year.
Four positions were elected including Dr Ian Murphy to the role of President, Judith McKay and Elliott Blade as board members and Pene Delaney as Constituent Representative.
Dr Murphy brings to the USNZ board a new energy and ambition to develop the tertiary sporting pathway. Ianâs previous involvement with USNZ has primarily been through the International programme and his appointment as NZ Universities Chief Medical Officer to the 2007 and 2009 World University Games events.
Paul Chong makes up the USNZ board returning in his capacity as Vice President.
