YMCA South Australia takes on management of Valleys Lifestyle Centre

The Clare and Gilbert Valleys Council has announced that its Valleys Lifestyle Centre is to be managed by YMCA South Australia.

Advising of the new arrangement for the Council’s major aquatic, fitness, recreational and lifestyle centre, Mayor Allan Aughey stated “Council understands that it is not a specialist in the fitness and health industry and has been pleased to come to an arrangement with the YMCA, as they are recognised specialists in this field, managing a number of regional sporting and aquatic centres.

“It is an exciting and positive development for the community and we look forward to seeing the centre grow and prosper.

YMCA South Australia Chief Executive Haydn Robins said the organisation was proud to add the management of The Valleys Lifestyle Centre to its stable of leisure facilities in South Australia.

Robins stated “we’re excited by the opportunity to build new community partnerships and to promote healthy participation throughout the Clare and Gilbert Valleys region and beyond.

“We look forward to welcoming the local community, family groups and individuals to this wonderful community facility and will look to add some exciting new programs and services to the already impressive range of health, fitness and social activities at the centre.”

The newly formed partnership between YMCA South Australia and the Clare & Gilbert Valleys Council will start in the new financial year, on 1st July.

The Centre’s facilities include a gym, heated indoor pool, outdoor pools, squash courts and indoor stadium..

YMCA manages about 700 facilities across Australia and partners with more than 15 local governments in South Australia to manage sport and recreational facilities, while delivering community focused programs and services, as well as ensuring access is provided to those in need in the community.
