YMCA South Australia extends partnership with the City of Charles Sturt

The Y in South Australia has announced the extension of its successful partnership with the City of Charles Sturt, continuing the management of the St Clair Recreation Centre for a further 10 years.

Advising of the importance of this long-standing partnership, City of Charles Sturt Chief Executive, Paul Sutton commented “the St Clair Recreation Centre holds a special place in our community and we are thrilled to continue our long-term relationship with YMCA South Australia.”

Since its launch in 2018, the St Clair Recreation Centre has become a flagship venue in Adelaide, welcoming 500,000 visitors annually and generating over $1 million in social value last financial year.

Welcoming the contract extension, Andrew Mundy, acting Chief Executive of YMCA South Australia, noted "together with the City of Charles Sturt, we’ve had six years of success at St Clair and are excited at the opportunities for continued growth and innovation over the next 10 years.

“We have several exciting initiatives planned to improve customer experience and reduce environmental impact,”

Sutton went on to say “this partnership reflects our values as a Council to align with a local South Australian not-for-profit organisation that has the best interests of the community and our sporting clubs at heart.”

It was also noted that the council having chosen the Y means all proceeds are reinvested into improving the health and wellness of local communities in South Australia.
