YMCA South Australia maintain AUSactive Quality Accreditation

Service excellence and consistently delivering exceptional programs, has continued to pay off for YMCA South Australia (The Y), operators of seven health and fitness facilities across the state, who have maintained their industry Business Accreditation.

AUSactive’s Quality Business Accreditation is a formal recognition process in which a business meets predefined criteria and quality standards, assessed by an independent accreditation body.

With The Y the largest group business in Australia to maintain their accreditation status, YMCA South Australia Chief Operations Officer, Andrew Mundy, said completing the accreditation process and maintaining Quality Business Accreditation status was a way of contributing to the integrity of our industry.

Mundy stated “the Y is committed to industry leading process, policy, programming and staff development.

“Testing and reassessing our organisation is paramount to ensuring we continue to set the industry benchmark in service provision to communities in which we actively work.

“YMCA South Australia is the first large organisation to successfully achieve re-accreditation in Australia, highlighting our commitment to service excellence.”

Mundy went on to say “as the industry peak governing body, AUSactive ensures the industry continues to evolve, grow and improve across the sector.

“As such, it is vitally important that not only The Y, but all businesses in the industry strive to achieve Quality Accreditation. It gives enormous confidence to our partners that our organisation and business processes are peer tested against a quality framework, and that we continue to deliver on our promise to provide the best possible facility and experience on their behalf to the community.”

Noting that the continued Accreditation was also about its commitment to members and the community to provide service excellence, Mundy noted “accreditation gives our members and the local community confidence and excitement that they are participating in an industry leading, innovative business that puts members health outcomes and safety first.”

Explaining that the YMCA South Australia’s continued Accreditation was one part of having an outstanding network of exercise professionals and facilities right across the nation, AUSactive Chief Executive, Barrie Elvish added “congratulations to YMCA South Australia on their continued Quality Business Accreditation.

“We remain focused on activating the nation through empowering and representing excellence, innovation, high standards and leadership across all exercise and wellness modalities.

“Our Business Accreditation is just one example of how we are continuing to strive for that excellence and shows our continued commitment to improving the Australian active health and exercise industry for everyone to enjoy.”

YMCA South Australia is the state’s leading recreation centre partner, offering first-class management, programs and services that deliver meaningful community outcomes. The Y offers a variety of recreation services, including full-service gyms and memberships, group fitness, swimming lessons, children's programs and camps, and social sport leagues.
