YMCA South Australia names first ever Head of Sport and Recreation

YMCA South Australia has announced the appointment of Craig Hortin as its inaugural Head of Sport and Recreation.

Taking on a role where he will have responsibility for YMCA South Australia's sport and recreation portfolio which currently comprises of 14 facilities with more than 400 staff, Hortin has been promoted from his previous role as the not-for-profit body’s Regional Development Manager in the state, where he has spent the last 10 years.

In a statement, YMCA South Australia advised “Craig has 20 years' experience in the community sport and recreation industry and has spent the last 10 years as a senior leader.

“His passions lie in people development, community engagement and strategy to achieve organisational and operational excellence while cultivating a culture of high performance.

Social Enterprise Certification
YMCA South Australia has also achieved certification as a social enterprise through Social Traders, an accreditation that highlights its dedication to providing positive impact through its services to the community.

By earning certification, YMCA South Australia joins a group of organisations that have demonstrated a contribution to creating a better world.
