WynActive centres attain Platinum Pool accreditation

Western Leisure’s AquaPulse and Werribee Outdoor Pool have been recognised as elite aquatic facilities after being awarded Life Saving Victoria’s (LSV) prized Platinum Pool accreditation.

WynActive and LSV joined forces to mark the achievement and highlight the Watch Around Water message, with a family day at AquaPulse on Wednesday 7th April.

Platinum Pool status is awarded to pool facilities that have achieved the highest standards in the provision of Aquatic Safety and Risk Management. The receipt of Platinum Pool accreditation is recognised as a sign of excellence within the industry.

WynActive Aquatic Facilities General Manager, Barry Harrison said that achieving Platinum Pool status at both facilities was an important component of Wyndham City’s commitment to water safety at its community facilities.

Harrison advised “we’ve worked hard in partnership with Council to ensure our aquatic facilities are inviting and accessible to the community. Our team is proud of the facilities and work hard to ensure they are presented in the safest and most positive way possible.”

Explaining that the joint promotion with LSV at AquaPulse was also aimed at highlighting the importance of children’s safety in and around water, Harrison added “I’m very proud that AquaPulse has won the state Watch Around Water award for the last four years in a row, but that doesn’t mean we can be complacent in relation to vigilance of water safety.

“In fact the opposite is the case, because many children have been forced out of the water for an extended period due to COVID restrictions.”

“The event was scheduled during the school holidays as an opportunity to engage parents and children together in a fun and positive environment while highlighting water safety.”

“One of our key aims is to raise the profile of aquatic recreation and encourage local children of all ages to enjoy an active and healthy lifestyle in a safe and welcoming environment.”

WynActive is committed to Watch Around Water messaging both within its facilities and externally. This has resulted in a heavy focus on harnessing and actively promoting this message across the broader Wyndham community.
