Werribee Outdoor Pool achieves Life Saving Victoria Platinum Pool accreditation

Werribee Outdoor Pool is the first stand-alone seasonal outdoor aquatic facility in Victoria to achieve Life Saving Victoria’s (LSV) prized Platinum Pool accreditation.

The leading seasonal pool which services the Wyndham City community, was awarded LSV’s highest rating after undergoing an extensive assessment by the state’s peak aquatic body.

Platinum Pool status is awarded to facilities that have achieved the highest standards in the provision of aquatic safety and risk management. The receipt of Platinum Pool accreditation is recognised as a sign of excellence within the industry.

AquaPulse and Werribee Outdoor Pool General Manager, Barry Harrison noted that achieving Platinum Pool status was an important component of the Wyndham City pool’s overall presentation as a facility of excellence.

Harrison advised “we have worked hard in partnership with Council to ensure Werribee Outdoor Pool is inviting and accessible to the community. Our team is proud of the facility and works hard to ensure it is presented in the best and safest way possible.

Harrison added that WynActive aquatic facilities were continually focused on water safety and supervision, and this was a high priority among staff and users of Werribee Outdoor Pool.

“It’s important that the community feels safe and well-supervised when at the pool and achieving Platinum Pool status underlines our efforts to ensure this security. Becoming the first stand-alone seasonal outdoor aquatic facility in Victoria to do this is an outstanding endorsement of the positive environment that has been created.”

The Platinum Pools program is driven by a steering committee with facilities adhering to a strict ‘Code of Practice’. The program involves completion of a combination of assessment processes every 12 months.
