Wyndham city set to open AquaPulse and the Encore Events Centre
Wyndham City Council’s biggest ever capital works project - AquaPulse and the Encore Events Centre – are set to open in the coming weeks.
Doors at the combined aquatic, events, recreation and sport facility are due to the public on Saturday 27th June, with the Council currently planning its hosting of a community open day on Saturday 4th July.
Wyndham City’s Mayor and Portfolio holder for Sport, Leisure and Recreation Councillor Peter Maynard said he was proud Council is delivering a world class facility to the Wyndham community.
Mayor Maynard stated “with something for everyone, I would encourage residents to come along and enjoy all that the new facilities have to offer.
“With the excitement and anticipation building around the opening, we are expecting crowds, particularly in the first few weeks.
“On behalf of Council I am delighted that the much anticipated wait is nearly over and I am looking forward to celebrating this significant milestone at the community open day. Spots for the community open day are limited to ensure adequate parking and pool safety.”
“Giaan Rooney will be the ambassador and family friendly activities will include use of the new pool and waterslides, and tours of the gym and fitness facilities.”
“There will be stage shows at the Encore Events Centre that children of all ages will love with Peppa Pig, Scooby-Doo and Adventure Time.”
The $54.4 million AquaPulse and Encore Events Centre project was funded by Wyndham City with $2.6million from the State Government.
Features include;
