Village Roadshow theme parks to roll out AirService online food ordering app
Mobile food and drink ordering app AirService is set to roll out its technology across Village Roadshow theme parks.
The partnership will see AirService’s mobile ordering and virtual queuing solution, eServe, rolled out at Warner Bros. Movie World and the Wet’n’Wild waterparks on the Gold Coast and in Sydney.
The Village-branded, AirService-powered eServe app offers seamless ordering, payment and take-away experience for guests while opening up options for venue operators to connect with visitors and offer premium services.
The Gotham City restaurant at Movie World is the first of many F&B outlets within Village’s theme parks to use the app while, when it reopens this weekend, Wet’n’Wild Sydney will also feature the eServe app at the attractions Premium Lounge, where it will be used as an ordering and delivery service for customers.
The service will allow guests to order and pay for food, which will then be delivered directly to their private cabana.
Introducing the benefits of the app, AirService co-founder and Chief Executive Dominic Bressan explained “imagine you’re a family out at the theme park. Instead of standing in a queue with your young children and missing out on all the fun of Movie World, you just make an order and continue to enjoy the rides and entertainment until your food is ready to pick up,”
According to AirService, the service is a world-first with the closest comparison a pilot from Disney World in Orlando, USA which last year tested an app that enabled in-venue ordering and food delivery during a night-time show.
Bressan added “mobile ordering was just an adjunct for Disney while we have built something from scratch for Village.
“Using mobile commerce to bust queues is easy to do, but very difficult to do well.”
Village Roadshow spokeswoman Selena Magill stated “the introduction of eServe has been a huge success so far at Movie World and we’re anticipating a similar response when it’s expanded to Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast and Sydney.
“In addition to taking the logical step of making the ordering process easier for our customers, we also want to make their visit to our parks as exciting an experience as possible.”
AirService currently provides branded mobile ordering solutions for the Sydney Cricket & Sports Ground Trust at the SCG and Allianz Stadium, along with Lend Lease, Jones Lang LaSalle, Vicinity Centres and at former Wallabies captain George Gregan’ s 25 Gregan Group venues.
