Inaugural Fijian Tourism Expo sells out
Tourism Fiji has been overwhelmed with interest in the first Fijian Tourism Expo (FTE), with the event now sold out for exhibitors.
The Expo is being held in the new exhibition complex at the Sheraton Fiji Resort from 5th to 8th May this year.
Record numbers of buyers will attend the event from all over the world, with more than 140 exhibition booths and 280 exhibitors from the tourism industry attending. Pre and post-famil tours that have been offered in conjunction with the Expo are also at capacity.
Tourism Fiji Chief Executive Rick Hamilton is thrilled with the response and the support from the industry, stating “the program for this event is shaping up to be very exciting for the tourism industry. We’re truly delighted with the enthusiasm and support of FTE from both the Fijian tourism industry and offshore travel sellers.”
The Expo will showcase up and coming local talent in the tourism and hospitality sector, with competing baristas and cocktails makers as well as a surprise master chef event. Each night, a dinner will be held in a different location, showcasing the world-class cuisine on offer in Fiji and highlighting unique local entertainment.
With support from the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, a Fijian village will be featured beside the Expo, showcasing traditional Fijian art and craft.
