Victoria’s Gumbuya World set for weekend opening
After three months of lockdown, Gumbuya World, Victoria’s only water, wildlife and theme park will be reopening as of tomorrow for the summer season.
Opening as of 10am on 20th November, the attraction is welcoming guests back to its four worlds: the Oasis Springs waterpark, Oz Adventure, Outback Explorers and the Wildlife Trail.
Explaining that, after nearly two years of harsh lockdowns, the whole team are excited to open the doors and welcome Victorians back, Gumbuya World Chief Executive, Ron Weinzierl stated “with the warmer months just around the corner, we can’t wait for families to visit our thrilling rides, iconic Aussie wildlife and of course, our epic waterpark.”
Having undergone a $10 million expansion in 2019, Oasis Springs will be ready to welcome guests into its massive wave pool, The Break, along with waterslides and 300-metre-long Lazy River.
With more than 50 species of animals, the Wildlife Trail, Gumbuya World’s original attraction is described as “a wildlife adventure with an Australiana twist, from native and endangered animals to music, food and the celebration of our Indigenous roots.”
Formerly known as Gumbuya Park, the attraction reopened as Gumbuya World in late 2017 after a multi-million dollar investment by a group of entrepreneurs including Gerry Ryan, Wal Pisciotta, Adam Campbell, Brett Murray, and Ray and Ron Weinzierl.
