VICSWIM launches Summer Kidz program

The new VICSWIM Summer Kidz program has been launched by Victorian Minister for Sport and Recreation Hugh Delahunty at the Hamilton Indoor Leisure and Aquatic Centre.
This popular program is being financially supported by the Victorian Government at a cost of $1.6 million over four years, to increase participation and access to valuable aquatic education and water safety skills for children, especially in rural and regional Victoria.
'Vic', the VICSWIM Summer Kidz mascot helped Minister Delahunty officially declare the online enrolments for the January 2013 program open.
Eager young children can now go through their paces as part of a special VICSWIM Summer Kidz lesson.
Aquatic and Recreation Victoria Chief Executive Ian Swan explained "this is a great opportunity to showcase this iconic community aquatic education and water safety program and at just $25 for five 40-minute lessons, just about everyone can afford to give their kids these life saving skills."
The VICSWIM Summer Kidz program runs across Victoria at over 100 pools and open water locations from the 7th to 25th January and is designed to align with both the educational goals of schools and to promote the Play it Safe by the Water message.
Online enrolments opened on Monday 1st October 2012.
