Topgolf Gold Coast welcomes new 'Sonic the Hedgehog' in-venue game

Topgolf Gold Coast has welcomed a new in-venue game, developed in partnership with SEGA® - Topgolf Sonic the Hedgehog Sonic the Hedgehog.

The new game meets the fast-paced action of Sonic, as super fans of all skill levels go head-to-head in virtual Sonic environments, Green Hill Zone and Sky Sanctuary, to hit springs, collect rings and destroy badniks.

Village Roadshow Theme Parks COO, Bikash Randhawa said as part of the recent addition of the Toptracer technology to the venue, they are excited to bring in Sonic the Hedgehog for guests to play, joining existing games Angry Birds and Block Party.

Randhawa advised “at Topgolf Gold Coast, we exist to bring joy through more ways to play the game of golf, and the addition of the Topgolf Sonic the Hedgehog game is another way we're delivering on that purpose.

“The multi-generational appeal of Sonic's iconic energy and speed gives our guests a fresh, playful way to have a little fun together with friends and family with the new Sonic game taking the Topgolf experience to the next level.

“The Topgolf Sonic the Hedgehog game utilises Topgolf's ball-tracing technology to blend the physical act of hitting a golf ball with digitally watching popular characters Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy track shots and collect rings as Players climb to the top of the leaderboard.”

Guests can play two iconic zones:

• Green Hill Zone: There’s no Sonic without the classic Green Hill Zone. Go fast on Sonic’s first and most well-known level like never before.

• Sky Sanctuary: It’s time to fly. Knuckles used to be the only one who could access Sky Sanctuary, but now it’s your turn. Watch Sonic and friends soar as high as your shots!
