The Recession Buster Road Show

The recent Recession Buster Road Show organised by FitnessNZ and Skills Active has visited ten locations around New Zealand, attracting over 500 exercise professionals, facility managers and membership consultants.

The partnership event included a line-up of national and international presenters and was a major success.

As Fitness NZ Chief Executive Richard Beddie explains âthe events made it clear that on the whole the fitness and exercise industry is one of the few that is still growing, despite the recession.

"Feedback from facilities and personal trainers is that usage continues to be high and enquiries from new customer/members is up to 10% higher than this time last year.

"The benefits of exercise are now well known to many, and many members have commented that they are using fitness centres and trainers more to help with the stress related to uncertainty during the recession."

FitnessNZ is now preparing to launch its annual BusinessGrow Business Summits to be held in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckand at the end of August.
