Demand and growth sees Rec Relief transition to Rec People
Having become recognised as a leading provider of temporary and relief staff for the industry over 10 years, Rec Relief has transitioned to Rec People - providing recruitment services for clients, particularly in local government, looking to recruit industry staff.
Explaining the change, Rec Relief and Rec People founder, Mandy Nolton explains “Rec Relief is no longer just a provider of temporary recreation and leisure staff. Due to the depth of experience of our people across multiple councils our people are some of the happiest and most sought after professionals in the industry.
“We are not a company that provides ‘relief’ any longer, we are a service that provides the best people for the role, whether the role is permanent, temporary, project-based, a mentoring position or even a graduate position.”
Having identified a need for a mobile, flexible, skilled and experienced workforce in recreation and related sectors within local government, Nolton states “the work we do and the workforce in place to deliver it is not static, it’s a constantly changing environment. We need to be responsive to that change.
“Unfortunately change doesn’t happen quickly enough in these work environments, so we created a solution.”
The highly successful Rec Relief provides a mobile temporary workforce of industry professionals willing and able to walk in to any team and hit the ground running.
Nolton adds “whilst temporary staffing is still at the core of our business offerings, Rec Relief transitioned to Rec People and expanded its service offerings to provide permanent, temporary and project-based options for employment.
“This, in conjunction with mentoring services, graduate programs and targeted recruitment, ensures the best new talent can get a head start and receive the support and guidance they need to be the best they can be.”
Rec People has built relationships with a large number of local councils, with Nolton advising “with our extensive experience in the leisure and recreation space specifically, advocating for our employees, understanding the culture of each local council, and providing fast, flexible options for the best talent, Rec People truly has changed the way leisure and recreation departments in local government hire, support and retain talent.”
Rec People is also designing and managing graduate programs to attract the best young talent. Helping them begin their career in local government and experience the fulfilment of delivering for the communities they live in and work for.
Nolton concludes “Rec People will become synonymous with a career in local government within the recreation and leisure sector.
“Employers and employees will benefit equally from this expertly crafted business built by a founder who works in it, rather than external to it.”
