South Burnett Aquatic Centre reopens after upgrades

South Burnett Regional Council has advised that upgrades at its Nanango Aquatic Centre have been completed with the facility now reopened to the public.

Closed from late last year work at the Centre saw the demolition of its former bathrooms following which additions included the creation of a Unisex People With Disability amenity, a first aid room, male and female toilets and a shower area. New windows and screens were also installed to replace the existing louvre windows.

The upgrade also involved new partitioning, floor coverings, fixtures and fittings and painting of all new and disturbed works.

The Council is also expecting Otium Sport and Leisure consultant to deliver draft designs of a new master plan for the Kingaroy’s Memorial Park and WJ Lang Memorial Olympic Swimming Pool.

The designs have been generated after feedback from a community survey, community stakeholder meetings and a councillor workshop earlier this year.

The draft designs will give Council an idea of the scope of the project and what the future could look like for both Memorial Park and the pool.
