Otium Planning’s Mike King moves to Senior Associate role in change of Directors

Otium Planning Group has advised that, after nearly six years in the role, Mike King has decided to resign as a Director of consultancy as of the end of June 2021.

Following a long service leave break, King will move into a role as Senior Associate at Otium Planning Group (OPG) allowing him to bring his expertise and project experience to a range of ongoing projects.

Reflecting on his 40-year industry career, King explains “it has been a great honour to firstly work in the local government recreation industry for more than a decade, and then over the next three decades be able to make a mark through involvement with a range of recreation, sport and leisure planning companies.

“The formation of OPG and serving as a founding Director has been a significant career highlight and it has been extremely pleasing to see the OPG team expand across Australia and New Zealand under the great management of my co-Directors.

“I look forward to this stage of continuing my involvement with OPG and focussing on special projects.”

With King stepping down as a Director, Dave Lanfear Consulting and Otium Planning Group have decided to build on the successful strategic partnership established in 2017 and formally merge companies and join forces.

As a result, Dave Lanfear will become a Director of OPG from July 2021.

Commenting on the changes, OPG Managing Director, Kate Maddock stated “I would like to thank Mike for his direction and knowledge as part of the OPG leadership team and helping to establish our company, and welcome Dave Lanfear to the role of Director.

“Together I look forward to building on the strength of OPG into the future.”
