Snap Fitness records 504% increase in franchise enquiries
Leading 24/7 fitness franchise Snap Fitness has recorded a 504% increase in franchise enquiries across three years, and in the past year alone recorded 42 new franchise sales across Australia and New Zealand.
The global fitness brand is experiencing significant and consistent growth in franchise enquiries, with an incredible 204% increase from 2021 to 2022, followed by a 98% increase from 2023 to 2024.
In 2020, the Australian Fitness Academy highlighted the expectations for the fitness sector to continue to grow, with an anticipated annual growth rate of 10.7% by 2027.
Chris Caldwell, Chief Executive of Lift Brands Asia Pacific, the Franchisor of Snap Fitness Australia and New Zealand, notes this is one of the key reasons business-minded Australians and New Zealanders are opting for the industry as a new venture.
Caldwell advised “investing in the Snap Fitness model is proving to be successful for many franchisees, with many then graduating to multi-site ownership. It’s clear that with the enormous growth in franchise enquiries we are seeing across the board, there is growing awareness across Australia and New Zealand around opportunities like these.
“It starts with consumers actively seeking affordable fitness options and products that provide them a variety of training options including core fitness products such as strength, cardio and functional.
“Delivering premium clubs, with quality equipment and a local approach, we see the greatest success and increased opportunities for our franchisees to expand their business.”
Caldwell added “worldwide gym memberships still only reach 20% penetration in advanced markets, but, we’ve identified a relatively untapped opportunity to attract large numbers of potential new members who currently feel intimidated by the general fitness industry. We’re witnessing this across the board at Snap Fitness, with steady membership growth year on year, which we attribute to bringing a friendly, non-competitive focus to the whole member experience – including our marketing, how we work with our franchisees and staff.”
The company has also expanded its footprint internationally, recording 26 new clubs opening across the Asia-Pacific region in the past year, including 14 in Australia and New Zealand, and 12 in Asia.
Michael Georgy, Snap Fitness franchisee, ventured into the fitness industry as a first-time franchisee and business owner in October 2021 opening his first club, Snap Fitness Doonside. With the ongoing success of Snap Fitness Doonside, Georgy recently opened his second Snap Fitness club in St Clair NSW with a record-breaking pre-sale result.
Georgy shared “It’s intimidating entering a market inexperienced however, with the support provided we had an exceptional pre-sale and have experienced ongoing success at our club. We were very fortunate to be able to access the comprehensive training which covers everything from marketing, floor plans, site selection, lease negotiation and more to set ourselves up for success.”
This year, Snap Fitness is gearing up for some significant expansion with a pipeline of new clubs set to open. 34 new clubs are planned to launch within the year, including 19 in Australia and New Zealand region, and 15 across Asia, with the brand also prioritising the modernisation of existing clubs as it plans to revamp 50 locations with an upgraded member experience.
Snap Fitness is a global leader in the fitness industry, with over 1000+ clubs worldwide. Committed to providing convenient and affordable fitness solutions, Snap Fitness offers 24/7 access to state-of-the- art facilities and personalised training programs designed to help members achieve their fitness goals.
