Scott Wilson launches swim school consulting business

With over 40 years of experience in the aquatic sector, Scott Wilson has launched a swim school consulting business - Swim People - to help develop businesses in the aquatic and recreational sector to support the exciting growth opportunities available to swim schools following the disruptions of 2020.

Wilson has owned and operated one of New Zealand top swim schools and has also been Head of Operations at two of Australia’s leading multi-site schools, Aquatic Achievers (Brisbane) and Carlile Swimming (Sydney).

Wilson’s skills help all sizes of swim schools, from the start up to those in the first or second year of operations, to established businesses with ambitions to expand further.

One critical area facing most swim schools is customer and staff retention. Wilson’s expertise helps businesses to realise the issues and develop pragmatic strategies to stop the unnecessary churn.

Wilson notes “I don’t believe the sector ever had this service available and I am excited to be able to support swim schools looking to optimise their efforts and achieve their ambitions.

“People are the make or break of every swim school operation. The people on the team are the greatest advantage schools have. They make the real difference.  I love working with the teams, the newest members to the most experienced.

“For owners of a single school, success is all about deepening strengths, seizing opportunities, upgrading weaknesses and staying relevant.

“Running multiple schools is all about leveraging your scale, maximising efficiencies, and taking your people with you.”
