Swim Schools Association invites AIS Water's Elena Gosse to address Walking on Water seminar
The Australian Swim Schools Association (ASSA) has invited Elena Gosse, Chief Executive of leading water disinfection company AIS Water to be a key speaker at its inaugural Women Walking on Water Seminar.
The Seminar, to be held in Melbourne on 8th March - as part of International Women’s Day - will celebrate and support women wanting to grow their careers in the swim school Industry, educate those who support women in leadership roles and address the ongoing need for work-life balance for those working in the sector.
Commenting on the event, Gosse (pictured) stated “the Australian Swim Schools Association states that each year, more than 1.5 million Australians receive swimming lessons at an ASSA member swim school.
“The industry body plays a critical role in leading the way in terms of best practice and principles and it is an honour to be asked to speak.
“I am passionate about encouraging women to join the swimming pool and water disinfection industries as historically they have been very male dominated.
“There are now many women who are working at the very top of the sector being instrumental in influencing change and leading by positive example. Like me, they are willing to offer a hand-up to the next generation of women coming through the ranks.
“At the seminar I will be sharing some of the lessons I have learnt as a result of changing careers and embracing my authenticity and vulnerability.
“I will be sharing my thoughts on the value of female leadership in a male dominated industry.”
Gosse is a staunch advocate against family and domestic violence and is known for being hands-on when it comes to raising funds for good causes, including raising more than $100,000 for Women’s Legal Service Queensland for the prevention of domestic and family violence.
The Women Walking on Water Seminar will be held on Sunday 8th March at Pullman Melbourne on the Park. Other speakers include Leigh Russell, Chief Executive of Swimming Australia, Lesley Rudd from Blue Dolphin Swim School and Saskia Kirby from KirbySwim.
