Risk Management seminar aims to prepare leisure industry professionals for major disruptions and disasters

Risk management specialists the Mindful Risk Group are staging a half day seminar aimed at risk management professionals and those with a responsibility for risk in all areas of Australia’s leisure industry.

Case study based, the half-day From Crisis to Opportunity: Is your business prepared for a major disruption or disaster? seminar, designed by James Ritchie and Bronwyn Smart of the Mindful Risk Group, has been formulated to not only empower risk management professionals and leadership teams to proactively anticipate and tackle crises head-on, but to also equip them with the skills and tools to turn challenges into opportunities.

The Mindful Risk Group have designed the seminar to ensure that participants are enabled to ensure their businesses are prepared for a major disruption or disaster. The program will include preparing for on-site incidents, having a plan in place to respond and recover from another pandemic, a cyber-attack, a major fraud or corruption incident, a supply chain failure or natural disaster.

Introducing the seminar, being held in Sydney on 30th April 2024, Mindful Risk Group Chief Executive, Bronwyn Smart explained “with incidents such as the Dreamworld disaster still lingering as well as recent aquatic fatalities this event could not be more timely.

“Critical mistakes are so often made following incidents which prove incredibly damaging, all of which could so easily have been avoided if organisations had plans in place to respond and recover when an incident occurs.”

Mindful Risk Group Executive, James Ritchie added “it is critical that leadership teams are equipped to not only proactively anticipate and tackle crises head-on but have the skills and tools to turn challenges into opportunities.

“The seminar will not only equip participants to do that but enable them to ensure that their business will emerge stronger, wiser, and more successful than ever before.”
