Raging Waters Sydney's Ros Pullen becomes new AALARA President

Ros Pullen, General Manager at Sydney's Raging Waters waterpark, has this week taken up the role of President of the Australian Amusement, Leisure and Recreation Association (AALARA).

Becoming President after AALARA's AGM on Tuesday this week, she becomes the second woman to hold the position.

Looking forward to her new role, Pullen (pictured) says “I am excited for the challenge and to lead our board to ensure we continue to be a voice for our industry and members.”

Her new role with AALARA makes 2023 a significant year for Pullen, with Raging Waters set to celebrate 10 years of operations in December.

With a degree in Public Relations from Western Sydney University and a Diploma of Leadership and Management through the Institute of Strategic Management, Pullen was involved in the marketing and communications side of the industry before her current role as General Manager of Raging Waters Sydney.

Joining the management team at the Western Sydney waterpark in 2018 when Parques Reunidos took ownership of the attraction, earlier this year she told World Waterpark Magazine that her transition was "a once in a lifetime opportunity to join the business during the transition period".

Commenting on her career she stated "I am inspired by those who take the time to motivate and mentor others and I have been very fortunate to work with and alongside many great people like this throughout my career."

Looking back on challenges of recent year, she stated "external factors that affect the business can be challenging - in the past four years here in Sydney we have had bushfires, floods, unprecedented summer rainfall and COVID.

"While they can be difficult, it also allows you to be agile and rethink some of your business strategies and plans that you may not have otherwise."

Offering advice to anyone looking to work in the industry, Pullen added "be open to all the possibilities this industry provides. I have been able to meet and work with some brilliant people that have made such a positive impact on my career during my short time in the industry."

Raging Waters Sydney opened as Wet'n'Wild Sydney in the western Sydney suburb of Prospect on 12th December 2013.
