Quayclean secures cleaning contracts at four Venues NSW facilities

Leading Australian-owned cleaning, hygiene and waste management services company, Quayclean Australia, has been awarded the cleaning and presentation contract by Venues NSW for Accor Stadium at Sydney Olympic Park, CommBank Stadium in Parramatta and Wollongong’s WIN Stadium and Entertainment Centre.

In taking on the contracts, Quayclean will be targeting an 85% recycling rate at each of the venues.

Advising that the company is honoured to be working with the four sporting and entertainment precincts to ensure attendees enjoy the best in-venue experience from the moment they pass through the turnstiles, Quayclean Chief Executive, Mark Piwkowski stated “the spectator experience commences from the moment they enter a facility. We believe the quality of work performed by our teams, together with their dedicated work ethic and commitment, will provide a superior service for the hundreds of thousands of fans who will attend events at these four venues each year.

“We will work in partnership with each venue manager and their stakeholders to set new benchmarks for environmental and sustainability standards by adopting the three Rs – reduce, reuse, and recycle.

“Quayclean will deliver and implement a stakeholder recycling plan for property, catering, grounds, and food related activities. This plan will focus on stakeholder education, engagement, and reporting.

“There will be a heavy emphasis on eliminating contamination with a particular focus on organic matter, and we want to have a 100% elimination of non-cyclable materials such as single use plastics.

Piwkowski added “we will develop innovative systems, technologies and resources that optimise labour in the most efficient manner and maintain our steadfast commitment to six of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.”

Venues NSW General Manager Safety, Security and Facilities, Johnny Naofal commented “Quayclean’s commitment to providing an increasingly sustainable service is important to Venues NSW, the NSW Government, and those who play and perform at our venues, and most importantly, the people who fill the stands to watch.”

The 83,500 capacity Accor Stadium hosted the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games and is the home to Australia’s biggest events including the NRL and NRLW Grand Finals, State of Origin, Bledisloe Cup, Socceroos and Matildas football internationals, and major concerts such as the recent Taylor Swift extravaganza. It is also the home ground to the South Sydney and Canterbury-Bankstown NRL and NRLW teams.

The boutique CommBank Stadium is the 30,000 all-seated home ground of the Parramatta Eels NRL and NRLW teams and the Western Sydney Wanderers A-League Men’s and Women’s sides.

The 22,000 capacity WIN Stadium is home to the St George Illawarra Dragons NRL and NRLW teams and Wollongong Wolves NSW Premier League football club. The WIN Entertainment Centre is the home court of NBL team, Illawarra Hawks.

Quayclean is already contracted to the SCG, Allianz Stadium and Newcastle’s McDonald Jones Stadium in NSW.

Quayclean has additional agreements with the MCG, Marvel Stadium, Optus Stadium, Adelaide Oval and the Gabba.
