Planning commences for FIBO 2021
The organisers of Germany's FIBO, the international fitness and wellness trade show, have advised that following the premiere of the first digital FIBO@business, planning is now underway for FIBO 2021 taking place in Cologne from 8th to 11th April 2021 and open to trade and private visitors.
FIBO Event Director Silke Frank advises “sport, fitness and wellness – all these things need to be rethought, because people’s lives have changed. Today we have the opportunity to reposition innovative products and concepts in a dynamic market. We need to keep a close eye on the major developments in our industry, as well as on the smaller trends, to ensure that we can actively shape these.”
FIBO 2021 is shining a spotlight on digitalisation, new concepts, prevention and health – topics that are the key to the future with Frank adding “we need to establish a strong presence and stay in touch – it is more important now than ever.”
Some of the industry's key players have already booked their stands at FIBO 2021 to ensure that they have a strong presence, including Aciso, Core Health & Fitness, DHZ, EGYM, gym80, JK, Keiser, Les Mills and milon. A number of major associations are also already on board, including the DSSV, the DIFG and EuropeActive.
Current plans call for the event to occupy its customary exhibition halls at the Cologne Exhibition Centre: Halls 6, 7, 8 and 9 in the northern part of the facility and Halls 4.2, 5.2, 10.1 and 10.2 in the middle of the exhibition centre. The configuration of the event has also been optimised, such as with the Fashion and Lifestyle area, where similar themes are now being grouped in Hall 10.1 – this is also the new home of the successful CATWALK event.
Numerous special event areas are also planned, including multiple stages and Cross Fit and Callisthenics areas. In 2021, Hall 7 will be devoted to digitalisation and the ‘Future of Fitness’. These are some of the topics that will be addressed in the Future Forum, which is being implemented in conjunction with two FIBO partners, FitTech Summit and E-Commerce-Centre (ECC) Cologne. Health and prevention are the focus in Hall 8, where the Body & Mind area is one of the returning favourites. A new highlight here will be the Health and Wellness Meeting Point, which takes a holistic approach to its subject matter.
All event planning is based on a safety concept that has been developed in collaboration with experts at the Cologne Exhibition Centre to ensure compliance with all applicable hygiene and distancing regulations. This concept also draws on the experience gained from a variety of trade and consumer shows that have already taken place successfully in recent months. The focus is on three familiar measures that have proven their effectiveness: maintaining distance, practising hygiene and wearing a mask.
Frank notes “we have a good concept and a venue that offers the space we need for a safe event. We are very optimistic, and we are already looking forward to FIBO!”
