New group fitness concepts for trainers and studios to be unveiled at FIBO 2017
Leading international fitness and wellness exhibition FIBO is to present the World of Group Fitness during its upcoming event in Cologne, Germany – being held from 6th to 9th April.
To be held in Hall 4.1 at the leading international trade show for fitness, wellness and health, the exhibition will enable studio operators, trainers and instructors to learn which new courses will bring a breath of fresh air into their gyms.
Launched in the week of the annual International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) trade exhibition in the USA, FIBO 2017 looks set to challenge the North American event’s past industry supremacy by presenting programs ranging from classic to equipment-based group fitness to body and mind courses geared more toward relaxation and mindfulness.
Breakletics: Hip-hop meets athletics
Invented by multiple German breakdance champion Peter ‘Petair’ Sowinski, this brand-new workout concept creates a novel fitness style by fusing classic functional exercises with b boying elements. Breakletics breaks with the tradition of monotonous exercise repetitions and instead emphasises ambitious coordination goals, motor development and fun. Exercises are designed such that even beginners can participate in workouts. Specially produced hip-hop beats set the tempo. A dedicated community exists for members to compare notes and modify or refine exercises.
fitdankbaby®: New mother-child fitness concept
Mothers interested in working out are a growing target audience for fitness studios, confronting trainers with brand-new challenges: Is effective and concentrated training with a child even possible at all? How can children be busied during class to prevent them from getting restless? The new fitdankbaby® KIDS concept lets mothers kill two birds with one stone: get in some healthy exercise while spending quality time with their favourite sparring partner – their child. The fitdankbaby® belt workout belt and the new fitdankbaby® eight (a fitness band in a figure 8 shape) enables a multifaceted range of exercise options.
The corresponding course program will start in May.
BLACKROLL® MOVES: Fascia training as a group fitness experience
The first official BLACKROLL® group fitness program combines trends such as mobility, regeneration and fascia training in a course concept for men and women. The 60-minute program is filled with classic yoga and Pilates exercises for strong torso and deep-torso muscles, myofascial self-message with the BLACKROLL® for relaxation and stress reduction, and intense HIIT cardio exercises for improved cardiovascular health. Three levels of difficulty are available for each exercise, allowing all participants to keep up. The program is approved as a primary prevention measure under Section 20 of the German Social Code.
BollyX®: Dance like a Bollywood star
This program of dynamic choreography and hot music from Bollywood will be making its European debut at FIBO. The 50-minute cardio workout is based on HIIT principles and burns up to 800 calories per class. A new choreography is released monthly. Plus, course participants get access to the BollyX® community.
CLUBBERCISE®: Effective training in a club atmosphere
Already highly popular in the UK and Asia, British provider Clubbercise® will be at FIBO to present its effective workout to the rest of Europe for the first time. The 60-minute full-body workout consists of easy-to-copy moves set to hot club music. Up to 600 calories can be burned per session. Training takes place in a darkened studio illuminated by multi-coloured LED glow sticks. That way, workouts feel less like work and more like a fun night at the club. The program is suited equally well for beginners and experienced group fitness enthusiasts.
Shadowboxer: Stamina, coordination, concentration
Developed in Germany, the 'Shadowboxer Performance' group fitness concept is based on elements from the sport of boxing. It promotes stamina, coordination and concentration. Workouts are done with the Shadowboxer – a mobile belt equipped with two cable pulleys. It can be individually adjusted based on each participant’s fitness level, making it easy for beginners and experts to exercise together.
Jumpplus World: Cardio workout with high fun factor
A multiple world and European jump rope champion and holder of two world records, Adrienn Banhegyi turned her passion into an effective workout for beginners and advanced jumpers alike. The training concept closes the gap between traditional and modern forms of skipping rope. Exercise goals include stamina, coordination and concentration. The high fun factor means the program is perfect for children and adolescents, as well.
PowerRobic®: Techno. Fitness. Beats.
PowerRobic® is bringing the 1990s with a power aerobic workout in tune with the beats of the decade. The course concept from Germany includes both low- and high-impact phases and focuses heavily on a high fun and party factor. Functional sports equipment is used to boost participants’ stamina, strength, flexibility and coordination.
XBT SPEED – Feel the resistance
Thirty minutes against resistance – the varied full-body workout with the XBT belt trains speed, strength and stamina. The workout device’s hand and foot loops feature adjustable spring retractors, which makes them extra effective during the interval-based workout. Functional exercises such as kicks, punches and jumps ensure variety and fun.
Bailaroo® – Let me entertain you
Workout and entertainment – this group fitness concept from Germany doesn’t just count on a diverse repertoire of dance and musical styles from around the world; the program, which combines effective cardiovascular training with high-intensity muscle training, also incorporates numerous entertainment features. Participants are just as likely to sing along as they are to compete in challenges. In addition, Bailaro® trainers are taught how to entertain and encourage.
