New Director appointed at Tasmanian Institute of Sport
The Tasmanian Institute of Sport (TIS) has announced the appointment of Adam Sproule as its new Director, replacing Paul Austen who has been with the TIS for 29 years and Director for the last 19 years.
With extensive experience from over 25 years in roles in both the public and private sector in Tasmania and overseas, Sproule has also been heavily involved in managing national and international event bids and taskforces.
Commenting on his appointment, Sproule stated “I’m proud to be joining the TIS team and the broader Tasmanian sporting community. Paul has made an outstanding contribution during his time, and I am looking forward to building on the great work of the TIS team and the athletes that we work with.”
Austen finishes his career at TIS at the end of this month, with Sproule commencing in the role soon after.
Advising that he is looking forward to working with and supporting Sproule in his new role, Tasmanian Minister for Sport and Recreation, Nic Street commented “Adam is well placed to put his skills and knowledge into action in leading the TIS through its next stage of development as it positions our high-performance athletes to achieve at the highest level."
