Mt Buller confident of a successful spring
Victorian ski resort Mt Buller is marking the arrival of spring with a range of guest offers and a colourful line up of events.
September sees Mt Buller stage a series of spring events including the ABOM Mogul Challenge, the Subaru Australian Interschools Championships, the very colourful ‘80s Day as well as the popular Corona Extra Pond Skim National Championships.
The resort is also offering heavily discounted accommodation, with up to 50% off the peak season rates at many properties across the mountain, free overnight parking and up to 30% off lift passes. 2016 Early Bird Season Memberships are also on sale from 1st September, and give skiers unlimited lift access for the remainder of the 2015 season.
The first weekend of September will see the ABOM Mogul Challenge and the ever popular ‘80s Day on Saturday 5th September. The annual Mogul Challenge will see world-class freestylers and mogul enthusiasts tackle the bumps in a bid to win fantastic prizes.
Mt Buller will also revisit the neon-coloured glory days of the 1980s, when the annual ‘80s Day celebrations hit the mountain. Celebrations will be held across the mountain, with a DJ at Koflers spinning 80s tunes throughout the day, a World Record attempt for the most amount of one-piece ski suits in one place, and the annual 80s Après Party where there’ll be a DJ, prizes for the best dressed and more.
From 9th to 13th September, hundreds of school students from across the country will gather at Mt Buller, when the resort hosts the 2015 Australian Interschool Snowsports Championships. Returning to Victoria in 2015, Mt Buller is proud to host this massive event which will see students compete in a range of disciplines from cross country to snowboarder cross throughout the four days.
The Corona Extra Pond Skim National Championships will return to Mt Buller for the second time on Saturday 19th September. Spectators will enjoy seeing participants dressed in crazy costumes skim across a temporary dam on Bourke Street, taking on silly stunts to get from one side of the dam to the other.
Celebrations will continue with après drinks and a BBQ at the Corona Beer Garden on Bourke Street, with an after party kicking on into the evening at Moosehead.
Director of Marketing for Mt Buller Mt Stirling Resort Management, Amber Gardner, said spring is a fantastic time to enjoy a snowy break.
Gardner explains "spring is all about fun in the sun at Mt Buller, with great deals, plenty of snow, sunny days and exciting events taking place including ‘80s Day, the ABOM Mogul Challenge, as well as the Pond Skim National Championships.
