Melbourne's Luna Park to host fun Halloween weekend

As it approaches its centenary, Melbourne's Luna Park is to host a weekend of Halloween fun from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th October.

With the face of Mr Moon at its entrance bathed in a green glow, guests will enter a fog-filled park infested with zombie and other spooky costume characters.

By day, families and youngsters can enjoy their favourite rides while from 7pm 'Luna Dark' will become a haunted playground where spirits, demons, and other creatures lurk in the shadows.

Park Chief Executive Mary Stuart explains "continuing Luna Park's family by day, fright by night Halloween tradition ensures that Luna Dark offers something for everyone."

The weekend event will also reference the Joker Ghost, who is reputed to haunt the world famous Great Scenic Railway rollercoaster since the early 1900s with a history of appearing in the path of the carriages on the Great Scenic Railway rollercoaster.

Luna Park's famous spooky Ghost Train is always a popular attraction on Halloween night, but there will be loads of other frightening attractions such as the Pharaoh's Curse, the Spider, and G-Force,

Guests are encouraged to dress up and come along as the ghouls, ghosts, monsters, witches and vampires with a best costume competition seeing the winner receive a 30% discount on an Unlimited Ride Ticket.

The Park is also set to celebrate its centenary of 13th December an extraordinary milestone which the entire city of Melbourne is invited to celebrate with an exciting centenary program including free community activities, music concerts and a heritage weekend running through the summer months.
