Luna Park Melbourne reopens for the spring school holidays
As the spring school holidays began on Saturday (24th September), through which it will be open every day, Luna Park Melbourne's famous Scenic Railway rollercoaster has also taken a bow.
With park management and staff preparing for the Park' Centenary in 2012, important restoration works being undertaken on its famous Face and Towers, meant that the Scenic Railway had to close.
Now, one of the oldest and most rare rollercoasters in the world is once again ready to delight riders of all ages with visitors to Luna Park during these school holidays being the first to welcome the Scenic Railway back.
Luna Park Melbounre Executive Director Mary Stuart says of the famous rollercoaster's return "while there is fun to be had all year round at Luna Park, there is nothing quite like the clickety clack of the world famous Scenic Railway as it roars around the tracks.
"We are delighted that the important restoration work on the famous Face and Towers has been completed in time so that the familiar sounds of happy screams from the world famous Scenic Railway can herald the arrival of spring in Melbourne."
The holidays also see the return of Showbag Alley returns to Luna Park, with something to excite all ages, tastes and budgets.
