Melbourne's Wildsoul Wellness looks to expand with franchise opportunities
Wildsoul Wellness is looking to expand beyond its current location in the Melbourne suburb of Mordialloc by offering franchises to opportunities to the industry.
Wildsoul Wellness has been co-founded by David Altamura - who also founded Byron Bay's first health and wellness centre, Spirit Health Club, where his clients included celebreties Baz Luhrmann, Martin Sacks, Michelle Bridges and Linda Kozlowski - along with the Go Fitness and Open Globe Athletic brands.
Wildsoul Wellness taps into both health and wellness with their unique resort-style studio that combines Pilates, state-of-the-art recovery facilities and naturopathy for a wholesome wellness experience that nourishes the body and mind. The visual aesthetic and the resort style fusion offering is accessible to everyone with memberships at the same price point as any other Pilates studio.
Altamura advises “it is a concept that is engaging to members and has an offering that promotes inclusivity and connection, and when a community feel connected, the result is members that stay for a long time.”
Mindful that Pilates is the fastest-growing exercise genre in Australia and New Zealand - experiencing, according to ClassPass data, 250% growth in the 12 months from September 2022 – Altamura saw an opportunity to bring together Pilates, recovery and allied health services under one roof, creating a unique blueprint for a new kind of wellness facility.
As a result, Wildsoul Wellness opened in Mordialloc in November 2021.
Since then it has created multiple income streams primarily through its Pilates offering, with Altamura noting that “the ability to expand revenue through ClassPass, recreational visitation to our aesthetically beautiful contrast and recovery spaces and retail spend on our own brand of teas and powders, both in studio and online, gives the studio owner a vast array of divers income opportunities.”
Wildsoul Wellness is home to reformer Pilates, mat and hot Pilates with industry-leading instructors. Meanwhile, the recovery offering features breathwork practice, contrast therapy, infrared saunas, compression boots, and a rejuvenation room with red light therapy and PEMF waves (Pulsed electro magnetic field).
Naturopathic consultation can be accessed in person at the Mordialloc studio or online via Telehealth.
Altamura adds “these days, exercise is no longer viewed as a punishing chore but an experience people want to enjoy. Meanwhile, infrared saunas and recovery facilities have skyrocketed in popularity.
“We’re learning more and more about the wildly positive benefits that lower-impact exercise and recovery modalities can offer. And, we now know that the old adage, ‘no pain, no gain’, simply isn’t true.”
